Mondujar is in the Lecrín Valley and convenient for the motorway that runs between the city of Granada and the coastal port of Motril.

Nearby - the splendid city of Granada, the Alhambra Palace and the beaches of Motril are all a 20 minute drive away. On your doorstep are rural walks, the pretty white washed villages of the valley, orange and lemon groves and local bars, shops & banks. The Sierra Nevada ski resort is a 50 minute drive from Mondujar.

The property - has two large double bedrooms. One with king sized bed, the other with twin beds. Open plan lounge & dining room with all electric, modern kitchen. Bathroom with bath and shower over. 3 juliet balconies with views to mountains and Andalucian patio. Vast sunny roof terrace with dining table, chairs and sun loungers.

The Lecrín Valley represents authentic Andalucia. In Spring the valley smells of orange blossom. It is a beautiful area. In summer the town hall opens the large open air swimming pool, a 5 minute walk from our front door.

Seaside - the more commercial resorts of Almuñécar and Salobreña are a thirty minute drive from our sleepy village.

Mondujar - for those of you into history, this is one of the most historic areas in all of Spain. There are many examples of the Moorish influence, including our local Mudejar church. Past Kings and Queens of Spain are buried under this former mosque.

Weather - this is an area of extremes. In July and August temperatures can exceed 40 degrees celsius. In February they can sink below zero, but not for long (yes it does snow in Spain - see above photo). The most pleasant temperatures are in spring & autumn.

Prices - we have one set of prices for weekly bookings all year long. Irrespective of Easter & Christmas holidays. Regardless of whether it is summer or winter. We keep it simple. Those prices are:-
For 2 person occupancy = 250 Euros per week
For 4 person occupancy = 300 Euros per week

4 persons is the maximum occupancy. Payment can be made via PayPal, Bank Transfer, or personal cheque in advance of arrival. 50% of the booking fee must be paid in advance with the remainder to be paid upon arrival. Any deposit is non refundable.
If so desired, payment can be made in pounds sterling into a UK account at the exchange rate at the time of making the booking.
For per night prices the minimum stay is 3 nights.

If it is summer and it is too hot or busy for you on the coast, then walk the valleys and mountains of inland Spain and enjoy the views and scenery we sample on our regular morning walks here in the Lecrín Valley. Be it a short stroll around one of the many beautiful white washed villages, or a trek up a small or larger mountain. The choice of walks is endless. For those serious walkers, there are tracks up to the Sierra de Mondújar, to Lake Beznar and beyond or to the mountain villages of La Alpujarra. They are all a joy. Somehow after our morning walk we feel more energised to take on the day. Time seems to go fast here in authentic Spain so it is vital you take time to walk, sit or stand back and enjoy all the splendour that is on our doorstep.

How can a beach move closer to you? Simple. The new motorway link to Motril, Salobreña, Amluñécar opened in 2009. It now means you can be on the beach at Motril in 18 minutes by car. In Salobreña 2 minutes later and in the popular coastal town of Almuñécar in less than 30 minutes. Fly to Granada from London Stansted (all year long) or from Liverpool (from March 28th 2010) or from East Midlands this summer. Caza Jazmin is a 30 minute drive from Granada Airport. Now, thanks to that new motorway link, Malaga airport can be reached in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. The choice is yours. The sunbeds are up on the roof awaiting you. As you can see from the photos on this site, the area around the Lecrin Valley is varied. The culture of Granada, the Alhambra Palace and the beaches of Motril are all 20 minutes away. On your doorstep are rural walks, City Centre shopping, the free tapas bars of Granada, beach life, watersports and the Sierra Nevada ski resort.

The Lecrin Valley represents genuine Andalucia. The area is famous for its orange, lemon and almond trees. In May the Valley smells of orange blossom. It is a beautiful area comprised of small white washed villages. Bars, banks and shops are all within 5 minutes walk of Casa Jazmin. Our local town hall now operates the large open air swimming pool located behind the Bar Acropolis. Entrance is 2 Euros during the week and 3 Euros at weekends and during fiesta holidays. This charge is made irrespective of whether you use the pool. Soft drinks are available for 1 Euro or you can take your own refresments to poolside. The pool opens in July and August.

During those months bars on the beach at Motril stay open until dawn. The more commercial resorts of Almunecar and Salobrena are a thirty minute drive from our sleepy village, Mondujar. INLAND SPAIN - NO RIFF RAFF THANKS!

When on dark, gloomy, wet days in the UK you turn on the television and see progammes focussing on life in Spain, it can be tempting to think that you want to live or holiday in so called "real Spain." Camera shots of pretty white washed villages, drenched in sunshine and with the odd donkey walking through shot paints a picture that is attractive to those who have just suffered road rage in a British city or had to queue up for hours at Tesco's.

Having lived here for years I am able to say with authority that villages in inland Spain truly are more welcoming than your average location in Hampshire, Hertfordshire or Herefordshire.

Living in authentic inland Spain is not for the 'fish and chip brigade.' There are no curry houses on our doorstep and not a mushy pea to be seen anywhere. Come here complaining about how Spaniards "drive on the wrong side of the road" and moaning about slow service in restaurants (like that never happens in the UK!), and you will never appreciate or understand Spain as a country. As Basil Fawlty said: "No riff raff here mate, thank you very much"!

Come to genuine inland Spain and relax. Kick back. Chill out. So what if service is slower here? You are on holiday so what is the rush. You have a fine city 20 minutes north of your front door and vast beaches 20 minutes south. Here in the middle you have the friendly, historic and peaceful villages of the Lecrín Valley. Please note, hiring a car is essential if you are to enjoy so much of what is available in the province of Granada. The city itself, the Costa Tropical, the white washed mountain villages of La Alpujarra - all are reached far easier and quicker by car.
